Hey everyone!
Welcome back or welcome to my blog where we discuss all things digital economy.
Today we will discuss how you as a business owner can improve your web traffic to your website, we're talking quantity AND quality here folks.1. Keywords are Key
Relevant key words are a must! Keywords help to rank content and should be used in title tags, descriptions, headings, URLs, and throughout the content itself.
2. Third-Party Help
Don't be afraid to ask for help. To assist tip #1 you can use tools like Ahrefs, Moz, SEMrush, or Ubersuggest to provide data on your competitors keywords, how often readers are searching for certain words and the cost of keywords for pay-per-click ads.
Hiring an SEO agency is always a clever option too. An SEO agency will provide you insights regarding your website and its performance and perform site audits to help identify issues that might be blocking your content from being shown in search engines.
3. SEO Audits
On the topic of SEO Audits, Conduct regular technical SEO audits conducting regular audits (I recommend weekly/monthly) to fix any tech. issues is crucial. Your website's search engine results will steadily rise if you stay on top of your website's errors, so keep an eye on them!
To create these technical audits, you can utilize programs I've mentioned like SEMrush, Moz, and Ahrefs. They have automated applications that will check your website for faults, issues, and warnings and then offer advice on how to solve these issues to improve your website's technical health. If this is something you don't have the time, nor inclination, to do yourself, your web design firm should be able to handle this for you.
4. Fix all broken links
While you're doing those audits its important you know about broken links. They can negatively affect your site's user experience and be terrible for SEO😖. No reader should ever arrive on a "404 not found" page!! We've all been there and it's the worst, very unenticing to go back.
To avoid this, you should regularly monitor your site for broken links and fix them as they emerge. You can use the Broken Link Checker plugin on a WordPress website to check for broken links.
Once activated, the plugin will check your entire website for broken links every 72 hours.
5. Speed is Key
Site speed is essential. Google will apply a slight penalty to your website if it responds slowly and takes a while to load. As a result, even if your material is the best available on the subject, it will not help your website rank higher in search engine results pages than it would if it loaded more quickly.
You cannot afford to neglect this technical SEO component. You can increase website speed by optimizing your website's images, enabling browser caching, enabling compression, lowering server response times, or just using a Content Delivery Network.
6. Desktop VS Mobile
The mobile version of your homepage shouldn't necessarily be the same as the desktop version
Google uses the mobile version of your website to determine how worthy it is for ranking well. Increased emphasis on responsive, mobile-friendly websites has been one of the key Google algorithm adjustments for quite some time.
Several well-known websites were penalized for not switching to a more mobile-friendly web template. Responsive design means it automatically adjusts to, and is easy to access, on any device.
A flexible website is now more crucial than ever because Google implemented the "mobile first" method for indexing information. So, ensure your website is responsive and will look great on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
7. Create a Unique Content
Your content needs to be unique and offer valuable information that can cut through the clutter. Informative, relevant, and insightful content is an effective way to increase website traffic.
One easy way to do this is by creating a blog for your website. In fact, websites that have blog content on them generate 434% more search engine indexed pages than websites that don’t have one.
Additionally, websites that post at least 16 posts per month receive an outstanding 3.5 times more traffic than those that publish less than four blog posts per month.
8. Secure your website with an SSL certificate
The installation of an SSL certificate is now a crucial need to improve your search engine ranking.
Google has mandated that SSL certificates be installed on websites since 2015. Google gives websites that have an SSL certificate preferential search engine ranking. You can purchase some of the most well-known SSL certificates from famous brands, including Single domain, Wildcard SSL certificates, multi domain SSL, GoDaddy Wildcard SSL certificates, RapidSSL wildcard SSL, and others. Or they can be purchases from the company hosting your website. These certificates are instantaneously available and purchased for affordable costs.
9. Look for crawling errors
A crawling error indicates that Google had trouble examining the pages of your website. This can harm SEO marketing by harming the indexing and ranking of the resource pages. These problems are easily located in the Coverage report of the Google Search Console. Once a week, look for crawl errors in Google Search Console and solve them immediately, as these are critical technical problems that could harm your website's performance and rankings.
10. Email Newsletters
You can send newsletters to promote your recent content to increase website traffic.
Strategically place your enticing information from your content in the subject line and the body of your email, you want it to be attention grabbing before they even read it.
Insert a link to call to action (CTA) that subscribers can click to read more of the content
Emails should be mobile-friendly, with links that are easy to see and open! This is a crucial factor as 46% of all email opens are done on smartphones
